PROJECT SIERRA LEONE
Project Sierra Leone is in partnership with “ Schools for Salone Foundation.”Schools for Salone is a non-profit organization committed to helping SierraLeoneans rebuild the many rural schools destroyed during their country’s ten year long civil war that ended in 2002. Greenscool will, bring solar energy systems, powering lights, and water purification pumps, to schools in an area where war has brought devastation to so many. Greenscool will be working in the remote village of Maforeka. The schools are slowly being rebuilt but unfortunately have no access to electricity.
PROJECT PERU
Project Peru is an incredible effort to bring renewable energy to an off grid school in the remote jungles of Peru. The village of Bombonaje sits on a small section of land between the Black River and the Amazon river. The small village is about a four hour boat ride from the city of Iquitos and has no electricity. Due to the poison in the water supply from local fisherman, the village is also in dire need of clean water . Greenscool plans on installing a solar array that will power the school and a water purification system for the village.
PROJECT DOMINICAN
Project Dominican is an adventure to bring renewable energy to a school in the slums of Santa Domingo Norte. The Greenscool team will sail from the Island of Puerto Rico on a sixty foot sustainable catamaran (The Kekoa is painted with photovoltaic paint and charges itself by the sun), to the Island of The Dominican Republic. This expedition will be powered completely by the wind and sun. Our team will start out in the the port of San Jose, Puerto Rico where we will pick up our solar system, which we will bring 100 miles to the city of Santa Domingo installing the system on a primary school in the slum of Santa Domingo Norte.
PROJECT BUEN PASTOR
Buen Pastor is a small convent located in Guanajuato, Mexico. Buen Pastor has been sheltering women and young girls for over 100 years. The school in the convent educates 50 girls, all homeless who depend solely on the support of the sisters. The Nuns have limited funding from the Government and their monthly power bills are crippling. Our goal is to supply the convent with a system that greatly reduces their energy expenses, while educating the women on renewable energy and the changes it can make in their lives.
